Amit Shah Biography
Amit Shah is Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Cooperation and has been elected as Lok Sabha Member from Gandhi Nagar. He was President of the B.J.P. from the year 2014-2020. He was also a chairman of the National Democratic Alliance since 2014.
He comes with having vast political experience. Before becoming Cabinet Minister, He was Minister in Gujrat Government from 2002-2012. He became Minister in the Centre when B.J.P. claimed a landslide victory in General Elections 2019. He is described as ‘Chanakya’ of Elections. He was instrumental in B.J.P. Victory in Gujrat. - Amit Shah served in the Gujarat Assembly for five terms (1997–2017), winning four consecutive elections from the Sarkhej Assembly Constituency and the 2012 election from the Naranpura Assembly Constituency. Amit Shah made assembly election history in Gujarat in 2002 when he won with a record-breaking margin of 1,58,036 votes. He defeated the nominee of the Congress party by the largest margin, 2,32,823 votes, for the fourth time in a row in 2007.

In 1982, he first got to know Narendra Modi through the RSS in Ahmedabad. Narendra Modi oversaw the youth programmes at the time as an RSS propagandist. Amit Shah is really passionate about sports. In 2006, he served as the Gujarat Chess Association’s president.
In 2009, the Central Board of Cricket Association’s president, and in 2014, the Gujarat State Cricket Association’s president. In 2009, he also held the position of vice president of the Gujarat State Cricket Association.
