Career As A Player

Domestic Cricket

Many coaches were pleased with Rohit Sharma’s batting, and he was selected to play for the Western Zone against the Central Zone in the 2005 Deodhar Trophy. Though he couldn’t accomplish much in that match, so he went on to play an undefeated 142 versus Northern Zone. This innings catapulted him into the spotlight, and he was invited to play for the Champions Trophy after being named amongst the thirty-men teams in contention. He was also chosen for the NKP Salve Trophy during this period. He was picked for India A for the match against New Zealand in 2006 due to his persistent strong play.
